Bramble Stitch Scarf
copyright 2005, Nepenthe's Misadventures

Materials

* 2 skeins Noro's Cash Iroha (99 yds, worsted weight)  in color 83, chocolate brown
* size 6 needles
* crochet hook size K (6.5mm)
* 6 x 6 inche piece of cardboard to make fringe

Gauge

unimportant - vary your needle size to get a more firm or lacy scarf.

Tassles

Measure off 16 yards of yarn, wrap around 6 x 6 inch piece of cardboard, and cut evenly along one side.  Divide yarn into 12 groups of 4 lengths of yarn each to form each tassle.  Put tassles aside.

Scarf

Cast on 20 stitches
Row 1: P across
Row 2: *K1,P1,K1 all into the same stitch, making 3 stitches from one stitch, P3 together to make one stitch from 3 stitches, repeat from * to end.
Row 3: P across
Row 4: *P3tog, K1,P1,K1 all into one stitch, rep from * to end.

Repeat rows 1-4 until you have used almost all of your 2 skeins, ending with row 1 or 3.  With 20 inches of yarn remaining, bind off all stitches.  Attach tassles, and enjoy!
